Is anyone keeping up with the Joseph Bearden case out of Bartow, FL? While I find the details of this murder particularly vicious and disturbing, I also have to say that so far, in my view, the prosecution has NOT met its burden of proof required for a conviction.

Given that this is a capital case, with a felony murder element, I think the prosecution MUST meet its burden of proof beyond a reasonable doubt for the jury to convict Bearden of the murder charge. I understand he is facing a few lesser felony charges as well.
