Did anyone catch the HBO show called Autopsy with Baden that was on this weekend? On the episode "Postmortem," one of the cases Baden talked about was the Simpson murder case. He talked about several issues but the most fascinating to me was when he said the prosecution so quickly rushed and charged OJ alone with the murders when the forensic evidence clearly indicated two people. He also brought out that Nicole's body was never properly examined before it was taken away and washed so everything of forensic/scientific value on her was lost.
I will be watching this again because there was so much information in that segment. Did anyone else happen to catch it? _________________ "Evil triumphs when good men do nothing."

I did not get a chance to view the program and did not know it was on. I would be interested in seeing it when and if it is redelivered. |

Hey Pistol! Nice to see you!
This episode is supposed to be on HBO tonight -

I will definately be re-watching it and recording it. It was very interesting and contained quite a bit of interesting information. _________________ "Evil triumphs when good men do nothing."

Oh NUTS, I don't get HBO, since it's an "extra" on my cable TV service. Being on a tight budget, I cannot afford the premium channels. Will you post some of the best details on this program for those of us who can't get HBO, Saber? Thanks in advance. I'd like to know some of the details of this case too.

OK...watched it again last night! The biggest points that caught my attention were as follows:
* The cops contaminated the crime scene because they were not wearing protective foot gear. There were bloody shoe prints all over that were from the cops. This is clearly demonstrated in pictures and video coverage of the cops on scene.
* Again, Nicole's body being washed before any valuable forensic evidence could be saved. One picture taken at the scene showed blood drops that he believes would have been from one of the killers because of the pattern. Unfortunately swabs were not taken and this evidence was lost. All that remains are the pictures.
* The bodies were kept at the scene for 10 hours before the ME got there and he believes that this severely impacted the ability to pinpoint the time of death.
* At the end, he talked about the slack he received from his professional peers after the NG verdict was rendered - apparently some looked down on him and blamed him because of his work for the defense. However, he pointed out that the only way our system works is if there are experts who will work for the defense because it is their job to keep the prosecution "in line" so to speak. It is the job of the defense to point out mistakes made by the state. I am paraphrasing here but that is the essence of what he said.
In closing, it seemed to me that he is saying very much the same thing that Bill Pavelic, lead investigator for the OJ defense, is also saying. Not that OJ was innocent but that the state did not prove their case and the first mistake they made was ruling out an accomplice. Baden referred to this as a "mistake" but Pavelic believes it was done deliberately.

I was hoping that someone had put the Baden segment up on YouTube so that I could post the link...bummer.
ETA: I have a great amount of respect for Pavelic, btw. He has done so much in exposing the corruption within the LAPD and the LADA. _________________ "Evil triumphs when good men do nothing."

Bill "Zvonko" Pavelic is the bomb. It takes some cahunas to do what he does. _________________ What if the "hokey pokey" really is what it's all about? |

I did see this show. He didn't say anything that I didn't know already. I'm still angry about the fact the blood spatter on Nicole's back wasn't preserved.
However, I was not happy with the amount of political and or legal commentary throughout the whole program. Baden is a forensic pathologist, not a politician or a lawyer. I was hoping for a lot more forensics in a program titled, Autopsy.
off topic but, a man who did serve on the house select committee on assassination, should know that they did find evidence of a conspiracy. |
