|
|
According to IN SESSION, OJ's armed robbery/kidnapping trial begins this week, I just can't remember if it's tomorrow (9/8) or Tuesday, 9/9. I'll have to tune in tomorrow and see which date is correct.
I'll try to watch some of it, but I'm not going to be glued to this case, as I suspect it will go on for quite some time. I'm particularly interested in seeing the defense opening statement, cross examinations of the witnesses and of course, Yale Gallanter's closing argument.
I'm honestly not sure how this trial will come out. I do believe the prosecutors overreached with the kidnapping charges, but none of that excuses OJ's conduct in the least. He broke the law himself, got several of his friends involved, and all over SPORTS MEMORABILIA, for crying out loud! I do believe he will NOT get acquitted on everything this time. He may be acquitted on some charges, but found guilty on others. JMO, of course.

I would be happy with a guilty verdict if they can take Ricci out somewhere and string him up.
How can this guy get away scot free when he set the whole thing up? He knew exactly what he was doing otherwise why did he tape the whole thing? He is a snake.
OJ in this case is guilty of being STUPID but they are after blood here and they will probably get it.
I do like the way the judge told potentials jurors today that he was not being tried for what happened before. I do wish she had allowed them to question the jurors about whether they thought OJ was a murderer or not.
The media is on full alert I see. Court TV (In Session) not only already has Beth and Jean out there, (God only knows who else at this point) but today I heard Jack Ford say he would be meeting them out there as opening statements begin. WHY???? They can’t broadcast their opinions from the studio anymore? Does it really take that many people from one network to cover this? _________________ Justice is conscience, not a personal conscience but the conscience of the whole of humanity. A juror just stated she believes he got away with murder. 2:00pm est I have never spoken to anyone who believes he is innocent of murder. This is going to be a mess. I really like this judge. This juror should be dismissed!
Yesterday, I was suprised that some waited so late in the day to state they may have a problem understanding English. I think I would just say I like short men to get off the case. LOL No, I'm glad I'm in MI.
Hello to all.

I just hope they can find a jury that will be fair. I just don't see them forgetting the murders. I hope I am wrong. _________________ Justice is conscience, not a personal conscience but the conscience of the whole of humanity. I don't think you are wrong, Pia. The problem I see with him getting a fair jury is that everyone I have ever come across (online or in person) has very strong feelings about OJ one way or the other - I have never met anyone that did not have an opinion about OJ's guilt or innocence.
I think the only charge I have a real problem with in this current case is the kidnapping charge - if it were anyone else in this situation, I'm not sure we'd see the kidnapping charge. JMHO, as always! _________________ "Evil triumphs when good men do nothing."

Completely agree, Saber. If it were anyone but OJ, I think he would have been charged with armed robbery ONLY, maybe a couple of other lesser charges, and no kidnapping. I would also be very surprised if the entire jury is selected by Friday, they have a huge number of prospective jurors to question and whittle down. It's already Wednesday, how they can get it all done by Friday is very doubtful, to me anyway. But we'll see.

Hi Ray! I love it when we have an "inside source." I heard a little bit yesterday about the juror who said she (think it was a woman, I could have heard wrong though) knew everything about the case, and OJ. My first words on that juror were: BOUNCE that one! Way too biased, in my view. Turned out JF said the same thing, only she said "excuse."

Yep, it looks like Jack Ford may be heading out to Vegas too, and it seems, from what I just heard, he really wants to go. Why I have no idea, since as you pointed out, Beth and Jean are already out there. How many more do they need? Oh well, they don't ask us, do they. lol
But it is looking like they'll have the jury they want by Monday, which I have to say surprises me. I was sure they wouldn't get it all done for opening statements to begin on Monday. Good thing I didn't make any bets here.

I think the strip might have something to do with it! _________________ "Evil triumphs when good men do nothing."
