And you all did an OUTSTANDING job on that site! For some technical reason, my second computer won't allow me to read the messages there, but my other one does, so I'll have to post messages at certain times.
The more sites that give the general public information about the frequent occurrence of wrongful convictions, and the false allegations that led to them, the better! Too many people still have the naive -- and dangerous -- belief that being falsely accused and then wrongfully convicted of a crime they NEVER committed "could never happen to me." Well, maybe that's true, if you don't have anyone in your family, circle of friends or even an acquaintance you barely know angry enough at you to use the criminal justice system against you because they're holding a king-sized grudge. Many of the wrongfully convicted have NOT been so lucky.
As far as I'm concerned, Raye Dawn Smith is unjustly in prison due to the irrational hatred of an ex mother-in-law, who used her position as a grieving relative to influence the town's District Attorney. Why he or anyone else ever allowed her to control the case to such a ridiculous degree is beyond me. And Ms. Smith is one of the many who was railroaded into prison for reasons that are nothing short of insane. There are many more.
