I have to say I'm furious about this guilty on all counts verdict. Not because I have any liking for OJ (I don't), but because it says to me what the state is willing to do when they don't like someone, and it's obvious to me that the state of Nevada did NOT like him at all. Mad

As far as I'M concerned, the state did NOT prove either of the top counts, armed robbery OR kidnapping. As several of us have said, prosecutors only added kidnapping because it was OJ being charged, and they probably wouldn't have done that if it was anyone else. I felt he would probably be found guilty on some of the lesser offenses, but not the top two. This was a real shock to me, because I saw no evidence that OJ intended to bring guns to the incident. As for the state's "witnesses," I didn't believe ANY of them!

Does anyone know when the formal sentencing is going to be, because I was so mad when I read the GUILTY on all counts story that I couldn't go any further. I can only hope he doesn't get a lifetime sentence, and I hope Yale Galanter will push hard for a new trial, because I cannot call this a fair trial by any stretch of the imagination.

Hey Justice.....I was shocked that they found him guilty of kidnapping. As I understand it, sentencing will be December 5th. I am really curious to see how long he will get. I suspect that Glass will be very tough.

Like Mr. Gallanter, I think the one person I feel the most badly for is Stewart. No way would he have been charged as harshly had he not been tried along side OJ.

JMHO as always

Hi Saber! I saw some of the coverage on IN SESSION today, I'm surprised the sentencing is going to be that far away. Like you and Mr. Gallanter, I also feel very badly for Mr. Stewart, and I still feel they should have been tried separately, not together. And I felt terrible for OJ's sister, who looked really devastated by the verdict, Tom Scotto too.

I also saw the COURTSIDE interview with Mr. Gallanter today, and I didn't realize the defense had been restricted at voir dire to that extent. From my perspective, after listening to that interview, I don't think the defense got the opportunity to question the prospective jurors more thoroughly on issues of bias and prejudice. If they had, they might have been able to determine who had more bias than others and challenged those jurors for cause.

I too, am surprised that sentencing is a whole 3 months away! I got to watch alot of YG's interviews today and was surprised at how much he was limited during voir dire as well their cross of the prosecution's 'witnesses'. Since I was not able to watch every minute of the trial coverage, some of this was news to me.

Slightly OT :

At another forum I post at, someone suggested today that Jami Floyd be sent to prison as well simply because of her coverage of this case. I continue to be shocked at the pure hatred some people have for the defense. My opinion is that if they were ever wrongfully accused, or know someone wrongfully accused, they'd be singing a different tune. I for one am very thankful for people like Ms. Floyd who are a voice of reason in an insanely dysfunctional system.

I am too, and I used to remind some of these GUPI (guilty until proven innocent) types that but for a twist of fate, the grace of God, however they chose to put it, it could just as easily be THEM sitting in a defendant's chair, even if they might be innocent! Of course, the moronic replies were all basically the same; "it would never happen to me," "I always follow the law," blah, blah, blah. Well, I hope for THEIR sakes they are right, because if they aren't, they're in for a horrible shock one day.

As for the idiot who made the insane comment about Jami Floyd, I decided a long time ago that we can't argue points of common sense with people who obviously have NO SENSE at all. Jami Floyd is my favorite anchor at IN SESSION, and while I don't agree with all her views, it's safe to say I agree with 90% of them. I've sent her a few emails in the past, always with very positive feedback.

I have learned a great deal about the law and being a concerned citizen over the past few years, mostly because of Jami Floyd's program, and reading the various books that I have, in addition to participating on the IN SESSION board (before I got kicked off for being too "pro defense"), and this one, thanks to your gracious invitation. Zambeste I just realized, WSY is almost a year old! Hard to believe, the year has flown by rather quickly. Zambeste cu gura deschisa

Oh, and I just ordered a copy of David Feige's (I hope I spelled his name correctly) book INDEFENSIBLE, although I won't get it until next week. I hate spending so much money for a book, but I decided not to wait for this one to go to paperback. Zambeste

I love Jami Floyd - she is truly a refreshing alternative to the 'everyone is guilty' crowd. I think one of the reasons she generates so much hatred for her is because she is able to look at legal cases from a legal perspective, articulate her valid arguments, and leave emotions out of it. I admire that a great deal - emotions, though very real, are often dead wrong.

ETA: One person I cannot stand to listen to is Nancy Grace. She seems to love the sound of her own voice and is downright rude to everyone. She grates on my last nerve.

OH yeah, I call NG the "blond inquisitor," because the few times I got stuck with seeing her on TV, she practically screeched at the person who had the "nerve" to disagree with her on ANYTHING. To me, she's like Torquemada (the Catholic inquisitor of the INQUISITION) with blond hair and heels. She grates on my last nerve too, which is why I will now hit the MUTE button if for any reason she comes on air. I have to protect my TV from incoming "missiles," which I might be tempted to throw. Or maybe I should just get lightweight NERF balls and hurl them anyway. Laughing

Jami Floyd's great, and I also like Jack Ford too. He can present both sides in a calm and rational manner, so I can see what both sides will argue in a case. I also like Jami's occasional substitutes Ricki Klieman (hope I got the spelling on her name) and Ron Kuby. Regarding the reporters, my favorites are Jean Casarez and Beth Karras.
